Valentine, Therapy Dog

Pawlo! My name is Valentine and I am a female Staffordshire Terrier. I was born on Valentine's Day, 2017. I was born in Washington, Ohio, in a rescue. My mom drove for 7 hours to bring me home. Over the past 5 years, we spent a lot of time to get me trained as a Therapy Dog. I work with my mom at her office, helping people who suffer from PTSD, Mpral Injury, and other emotional and mental challenges. I work with the veterans, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, other frontline workers, and victims of crimes. I help my people by getting on top of them, and applying pressure, so that they can feel safe telling my mom about what's going on. I also advocate on behalf of all of the pitties. I help people to see that we are amazing pups, smart, loving, sensitive, and kind. I love going to different places and giving people kisses and facials. Now, I realize that not every human wants a pupper on top of them. And that’s ok! I don't take that personally. You can request my mom to have me in or out of the session. I am a pittie. That means I am smart and stubborn. While I’ve had three years of training, I am still working on passing my Good Citizen Certificatiin exam. I will get there. I just need a bit more time to be patient with trying to show excitement and love to everyone around me. I am a proud member of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Staffordshire Terrier Club of America, and Canine Obedience College.
